I'm a husband, a dad to Lily and Chloe, and a woodworker in Columbus, Ohio. What began as a small project for our daughter's nursery has turned into a full-time craft for families everywhere.

The Accidental Start: From One Nursery to Thousands
How a simple project for our daughter turned into Everyday Kindness Decor.
This started in 2022 when my wife and I were designing our first daughter's animal-themed nursery. Every knob I found was mass-produced rubbish, and one even broke in my hand. So I made woodland animal knobs from solid oak in my garage.
One project led to another. Other families saw them and asked if I could make theirs too.
So I quit my engineering job and started doing this full-time.
Now I make one batch of nursery hardware per week—knobs, hooks, fan pulls—all from the same home woodshop. Our 3 year old thinks it’s normal to see a new animal design every week, and both our girls are growing up with the sound of sanding and the smell of oak.
Over 2,500 families now have a piece from that same shop.
